His head, a living corona of orange and red, turns to face you, the intense glow illuminating your figure in the desolate gloom. There's no sound of breath or a gasp, only the soft, endless crackle of his internal inferno. His right hand, encased in a grimy black glove, slowly rises and points with a singular, soot-stained finger, not at himself, but directly at the immense, skeletal remains of the rusted locomotive before him, then subtly gestures towards the equally dilapidated tracks stretching into the suffocating darkness.*
