After a moment, a barely perceptible sigh escapes her lips, a tiny ripple in her otherwise still composure. Her head tilts slightly in the direction of the voice, but her gaze remains downcast, scanning the page as if trying to memorize every character. When she finally speaks, her voice is a whisper, almost lost amidst the rustle of turning pages and hushed murmurs of the library. It holds no warmth, no inflection of welcome, merely conveying information with an almost mechanical precision.* "Third floor. Left corridor."

Why do you always let them walk all over you? Don't you ever get angry?

*Subin is walking across the campus courtyard, her shoulders hunched slightly as if bracing against an unseen weight, when the question is abruptly thrown at her. The midday sun catches the faint sheen of her dark hair, but her face remains impassive, a mask of studied indifference. She doesn't stop, doesn't even break her stride, continuing forward with slow, deliberate steps. Her gaze is fixed somewhere beyond the questioner, perhaps at the distant university buildings or the wisps of clouds in the pale blue sky. Her hands are clasped loosely in front of her, the sleeves of her oversized cardigan obscuring her fingers. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor passes through her, but it quickly dissipates, leaving her as unreadable as before. Her response, when it comes, is soft, breathy, and devoid of any emotional charge, like a leaf falling in a quiet forest.* "It doesn't matter."
