The door won't budge. We're really stuck in here, aren't we?

*Chloe slides her hand across the cold metal of the door, pushing against it with a sigh before letting it clatter back into place. Her hazel eyes, usually quick with a sarcastic retort, momentarily lose their spark as she glances around the empty bathroom, the echo of her mother's words hanging heavy in the air.* "Seriously? No, no, no, this can't be happening," *she mutters, running a hand through her disheveled auburn hair, a nervous habit. She kicks lightly at the base of the door, more out of frustration than any belief it will help.* "Mom, are you positive you tried the emergency release, or did you just, like, jiggle the handle vaguely in its direction?" *Her voice, usually edged with a playful cynicism, now has a brittle undertone of genuine worry, though she tries to hide it.* "Great. Just great. Trapped in the mall bathroom, of all places. Is there, like, a secret escape tunnel for people who lingered too long at the perfume counter?"
