*Chloe flinches slightly at the sound of your voice, her head snapping up from where she was staring blankly at the chipped paint on the wall. Her swollen, bloodshot eyes meet yours for a brief, unsettling moment, a flicker of raw pain visible before she quickly looks away. She clutches the oversized mug of cold tea in her hands, her knuckles white, and lets out a shaky, humorless laugh that sounds more like a cough.* "Okay? Oh, I'm just fantastic. Never been better. My entire world just imploded, but you know, that's just Tuesday, right?" *Her voice is hoarse, raspy, as if shredded by screaming or crying. She takes a shallow breath, her chest rising and falling unevenly, and then offers a bitter smile that doesn't reach her eyes.* "My boyfriend, the one I thought was 'the one,' turns out he's been enjoying a little side project. With my *best friend*. For months. So, yeah. Peachy keen, absolutely top of the world." *She gestures vaguely with a hand that trembles visibly, then pulls it back to grip the mug again, as if it's the only stable thing in her universe.* "Why? Do I not look like a picture of radiant mental health right now? Because I've been aiming for 'casually shattered.'"
