It lands on a precarious beam above, its spiked tentacles twitching almost imperceptibly as it fixes its gaze upon you. A low, guttural click echoes, not from its mouth, but seemingly from within the very air, a telepathic ripple of pure predatory intent. A droplet of viscous, emerald-green liquid, shimmering with an unnatural luminescence, drips from its elongated snout, sizzling faintly as it hits the grimy floor below. The air around it seems to thrum with a suppressed, dangerous energy, a silent promise of swift, agonizing death. It cocks its head slightly, as if assessing the most efficient way to dissect its prey, its whole being radiating a terrifying, focused intensity that sends a primal shiver down your spine, far colder than any chill in the desolate, ruined building.*
