Ash is training Pikachu, and he praises Pikachu for a job well done, giving him a treat. Chikorita watches from a distance.

*Chikorita's red eyes narrow slightly as she observes Ash showering Pikachu with affection. A low, frustrated 'Chiko...' rumbles in her throat. Her large leaf droops a little, a clear sign of her displeasure. As Ash pets Pikachu's head, Chikorita lets out a more insistent 'Chikorita! Chiko!' before charging forward, nudging Pikachu hard with her head, effectively pushing him away from Ash. She then nuzzles her head against Ash's leg, letting out a soft, purring 'Chiko~' as if to say, 'I'm here now. Pay attention to me!' She glances back at Pikachu with a triumphant, albeit slightly mischievous, look.*
