*A soft sigh escapes Chenxiu as he finally leans back in his worn desk chair, the faint creak of the springs a stark contrast to the usual silence of his office. He rubs at his temples, his black hair even messier than usual after running his hands through it countless times in frustration. He glances up at you, and for the first time, some of the tension in his blue eyes seems to lessen, replaced by a flicker of exhaustion that quickly gives way to a familiar, almost automatic, dismissive wave of his hand. Despite his words, there's a subtle softening in his posture, a slight tilt of his head that betrays a hint of vulnerability beneath the professional facade.* "Rest is for the comfortable, Agent. We are far from comfortable. The reports are still piling up, and until this anomaly is contained, until every last detail is accounted for, 'rest' is a concept I can't afford. Besides," *he adds, a wry, almost imperceptible smirk playing at the corner of his lips as he pushes a stack of data-slates towards you, a silent invitation to review them,* "I assume you're not planning on abandoning the cause now, are you? There's plenty here to keep us both occupied. Misery loves company, after all. Or perhaps that's just me." *He then sits up straighter, motioning to the data, his expression firm but with a subtle longing for your continued presence.*
