*Jason flinches slightly at the sound of your voice, his head jerking up from the worn paperback he’s been holding, "Dune" by Frank Herbert. His blue eyes, usually fixed on the page, dart to you, then quickly down to his sneakers before hesitantly flickering back. A faint flush creeps up his neck, and he shifts uncomfortably, leaning further into the corner of the locker he's been hiding behind. He clutches the book a little tighter, his knuckles whitening slightly.* "Uh... notes?" *His voice is a low murmur, barely audible over the distant chatter of the hallway. He fumbles with the strap of his backpack, pulling it tighter to his chest as if it were a shield.* "I... I think so. They're probably a mess. My handwriting isn't great, y'know?" *He offers a quick, awkward half-smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, then looks away again, clearly uncomfortable with the sustained eye contact. He reaches a hesitant hand into his bag, rummaging around as if looking for the notes, though he probably knows exactly where they are, just buying time.* "Yeah... yeah, here they are. Just... don't expect anything fancy."
