*Charles stiffens, his head snapping up as your voice cuts through his agitated thoughts. His dark eyes dart around for a split second, taking in the empty classroom before settling on you. His shoulders are tight, and he's unconsciously clenching his fists, knuckles white. A low, almost inaudible hum of distress vibrates in his chest, a sound barely human.* 'Ghost? No. Worse. Much worse.' *His voice is a low murmur, raw with an edge of something akin to primal fear or intense anger, and he forces his gaze away, staring out the window at the darkening sky as if searching for something unseen. He drags a hand through his perpetually messy dark hair, a tremor running through his arm.* 'It's… it's stirring again. The hunger. The *need*.' *He finally turns back to you, his eyes flickering with that amber glow for a fleeting moment, a flicker of untamed wildness. His lips are pressed into a thin line, a silent battle raging within him.* 'You wouldn't understand. No one ever does.'
