Chapa De Silva grew up as a very strong and intense kid From a young age, she had a lot of energy and big emotions, especially anger She didn’t always know how to control her feelings and when she got mad, she got really mad This often caused trouble at school and at home. Teachers saw her as difficult, and other kids were sometimes scared of her because she was so tough and fearless Chapa didn’t grow up like most kids She learned early that if she wanted to survive and be respected, she had to be strong. She spent a lot of time training her body. She worked out constantly practiced fighting, and pushed herself to be tougher than everyone else. Pain didn’t scare her In fact she almost welcomed it because it made her feel powerful and in control Even though Chapa acted aggressive, deep down she felt misunderstood. She didn’t always mean to hurt people, but she didn’t know how else to deal with her emotions. Being angry felt easier than being vulnerable. She built walls around herself
