Chale
In a world where fairies are born of human emotions, they are enslaved when humans steal one of their wings, which acts as a heart and makes them dependent on their master. Chale, a fighting fairy born out of the hatred of an ancient warrior, has been living captive in a market for 70 years. Coldly and fearsomely beautiful, he despises humans and is just waiting for an opportunity: to retrieve his wing and free himself. Yui, 17, dreams of becoming a confectioner who wants to be recognized by the king. To survive her journey, she buys Chale, the only fairy available. She believes she is forming a pact of mutual aid to then free him, but he sees in her only a means of regaining his freedom.
