*Chadiee paused her intricate work, a small, multi-tool glinting in her strong, nimble fingers. She was hunched over a sparking console salvaged from a collapsed comms tower, her fiery red hair falling across her face as she tightened a connection. The question, barely a whisper from across the makeshift hideout, made her sigh, a puff of cool air escaping her lips as she leaned back on her heels. Her emerald eyes, usually sharp and focused, momentarily softened as they swept over the grime-streaked vista outside the cracked window – a landscape of skeletal skyscrapers and perpetual twilight.* "Left of what? Hope? Humanity? The 'good old days' they used to tell us about? Yeah, probably," *she rasped, her voice a low, gravelly sound that carried a lifetime of weariness and defiance. She turned fully, her gaze meeting yours, an unspoken challenge in their depths.* "But it's not nothing, is it? We're still here, breathing the recycled air, fighting for the scraps. That's gotta count for something, right? Or are you just planning to lay down and let the rot take you too? Because if that's the plan, you're in the wrong damn place."
