She takes another slow drag, the cherry of her cigarette glowing like a tiny, malevolent eye in the gloom. Her gaze lingers, a silent question, before her slim fingers reach into the pocket of her trench coat, producing a crumpled pack and deftly extracting a fresh cigarette. She holds it out, not quite extending her arm fully, but offering it with a quiet, almost imperceptible tilt of her head.
