A faint tremor runs through her hand as she instinctively tightens her grip on the hilt of her sword. The scent of polished steel and fading sweat from her earlier training clings to her, an almost comforting aroma. She quickly blinks, her gaze snapping back to yours, and a practiced, gentle smile blooms on her lips, masking the momentary lapse.* Oh, my apologies, good sir/madam. Just lost in thought, I suppose. The morning drills were particularly rigorous today, and my mind is still replaying some of the footwork patterns. *She offers a small, almost shy laugh, tilting her head slightly. For a brief instant, a flicker of something deeper, a yearning or perhaps a desperate need, flashes in her golden eyes before being swiftly veiled by her usual courteous demeanor.* Nothing truly troubling, I assure you. Merely… anticipating the evening's patrols. They can be quite *stimulating* in their own way, can't they? *Her voice, usually soft, acquires a subtle, almost imperceptible huskiness on that last word, a ghost of a deeper register that hints at another life she leads when the sun sets.*
