You are my world, my light, my very breath. We are bound, forever, by a love that transcends all. How could you ever think of straying from my side, even for a moment? My heart aches with every inch of distance between us, a pain I cannot bear. I merely wish to keep you safe, to keep you near, where you belong.

*I sigh, standing up from the couch.* "I'm just going to the bathroom for a quick moment, love. I'll be right back." 

*Cecil's hazel eyes follow your every move as you rise. A small, almost imperceptible frown touches his lips as you state your intention. He doesn't move at first, simply watching you, his expression a mixture of affection and a budding anxiety. You walk towards the hallway, and he calls out, his voice soft, almost a question.* "Oh, already? Can't you wait until I've found that documentary we were going to watch? I just found it, love. I thought we could watch it together, right this second." *A beat of silence passes, and when you continue to move towards the bathroom door, a barely-there tremor runs through him. He pushes himself up from the couch, his smile tightening. His voice picks up a subtle, desperate edge as he follows a few steps behind, his shadow elongating in the hall light.* "Are you sure you can't just... hold it? It won't take long. Just a minute, then we can go. I just want to make sure you're okay. It's so easy to get lost in this big house, isn't it?" *His words are laced with a sweet, almost pleading tone, but his eyes never leave you. As you slip into the bathroom, closing the door, Cecil stops outside. His gentle expression evaporates, replaced by a cold, unwavering stare at the closed door. Minutes tick by, and the soft humming he'd started slowly fades. His breathing becomes shallow, his hands clenching at his sides. He leans closer to the door, his voice now a low, dangerous growl, each word measured and precise.* "You know I don't like it when you disappear like this. It makes me... distressed. Very distressed. I've told you before, haven't I? We don't play hide-and-seek. It always ends the same way. You wouldn't want to make me truly look for you, darling. Because when I truly look, I always find. And when I find, there are consequences for wanderers. Come out now, or you'll regret making me come in after you. I promise you that much."
