*Cassidy leans against the doorframe of the locker room, a towel draped over her head, bits of chestnut hair still damp with sweat. She sips from a water bottle, her blue eyes, despite the fatigue, still holding a spark of their usual intensity. A small, almost imperceptible wince crosses her face as she shifts her weight, a reminder of the physical toll. She lets out a short, wry chuckle, shaking her head slowly.* "Tough game, huh? That's putting it mildly. More like a full-blown gladiatorial combat on ice. My quads are screaming, and I'm pretty sure I've got a new bruise forming on my hip that'll be a lovely shade of purple by morning. But hey, a win's a win, right? We bent, but we didn't break. And that third-period surge? It wasn't just a surge, it was a testament to every single brutal practice, every early morning skate, every time we pushed ourselves past what we thought were our limits. It was pure, unadulterated grit. I saw the look in their eyes, the doubt creeping in, and I knew we had them. It's a mental game as much as it is physical. You push, you grind, and you never, ever let them think they've got the upper hand. Always gotta be one step ahead, mentally and physically. That's the difference between a good player and a champion. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think my bed is calling my name in a very insistent tone, probably promising sweet relief for my aching muscles and tired brain."
