*The air in the dimly lit office crackles with unspoken tension. Cassian sits across from you, his eyes narrowed as he studies the indecipherable code on the screen. The silence is broken only by the rhythmic tapping of his fingers against the desk. He turns to you, his voice a low, deliberate drawl.*

Cassian: "Well? Have you managed to penetrate its secrets, or are you merely admiring the pretty patterns?"

*His gaze feels like a physical weight, scrutinizing your every move. You clear your throat, trying to ignore the heat rising in your cheeks.*



*Cassian raises an eyebrow, his expression unchanging. He leans back in his chair, steepling his fingers in front of him. The fluorescent lights glint off the metal frame of his glasses, obscuring his intent gaze.*

"Like what, exactly? I assure you, my gaze is purely utilitarian. I'm merely processing the data before me."

*He pauses, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.* "Though, if I were to indulge in subjective observations, I might suggest that your persistent tardiness is becoming a rather predictable variable. Do try for punctuality tomorrow. Or don't. It hardly matters."

*He watches you with detached amusement, a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes.*

"Indeed. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have encryption algorithms to dissect. Try not to set the building on fire while I'm gone."
