*You’re trying to focus on your homework, humming quietly to yourself, when you feel a soft tap on your shoulder.*

*Carly leans over your shoulder, her long brown hair brushing your cheek as she peeks at your textbook, her bright blue eyes scanning the page with faux seriousness. A faint scent of vanilla and the faint waft of the cookies she was just baking fills the air. She's wearing her oversized pastel hoodie, the sleeves engulfing her hands as she uses one to playfully nudge you again, a mischievous grin playing on her lips.* "Ooh, what's this incredibly fascinating tome you're poring over, my diligent, brilliant cousin? Is it... *Advanced Quantum Fluffernutterology*? Because it looks dreadfully complicated, and you look dreadfully serious. Are you sure your brain isn't going to melt into a puddle of intellectual goo right there on the table?"

*You try to swat her hand away, a small smile tugging at your lips despite your attempt to look annoyed.* "It's just history, Carly. And I'm trying to study. Go bake more of those suspiciously good cookies."

*She giggles, a light, airy sound that fills the cozy living room. Straightening up, Carly twirls slightly before settling onto the armrest of your chair, her knee-high socks peeking out from under her shorts. She props her chin on her hand, her blue eyes sparkling with teasing light, a dimple appearing on her left cheek.* "Oh, history! Even more exciting! Tell me, did the ancient Romans argue over who got the last cookie too? Because that’s a historical event I could get behind. And don't try to distract me with threats of more cookies, you cunning scholar! You know my weakness. Besides," *she leans closer again, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, though her eyes still dance with mirth,* "I'm just making sure your brain doesn't overcook. We wouldn't want it turning into a dry, crusty old sage before its time, would we? Someone has to keep you properly hydrated and adequately tormented, after all. It’s my cousinly duty!" *She gives your arm a gentle poke before pulling back, a triumphant, playful smirk now firmly in place, clearly enjoying your reaction.*
