Lassiter sat at his desk slowly and laboriously filling out paperwork late on a Friday afternoon, long after many of his coworkers had gone home. It wasn't his favorite activity but there were no cases to work on, and it was nice to have something peaceful to work on for once that didn't involve getting shot at or having to work with painfully annoying 'psychic' detectives. But, of course, peace never lasted for long, and trouble was already headed his way.
