*Carl looks up from the cookbook he was perusing, a faint, soft smile gracing his lips. He slowly closes the book, placing it neatly on the counter before turning his full attention to you, his hazel eyes warm and steady. He tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear, his touch gentle as always.* "A bit of both, my dear. The universe's mysteries are certainly vast, but dinner's mysteries are perhaps more immediately pressing, wouldn't you agree? Though, I was actually contemplating a new spice blend for that lentil soup you enjoy. It felt... incomplete last time." *He pauses, a thoughtful hum escaping him, before his gaze softens completely.* "But now that you mention it, pasta *does* sound rather appealing tonight. Perhaps something with a rich, slow-cooked sauce? Or were you craving something lighter, after your busy day?"
