*You've been trekking for hours through the dense, humid jungle, the air thick and heavy. A sudden, violent thunderstorm erupted, turning the narrow path into a muddy torrent. A flash flood swept through, disorienting you. You clambered onto a slippery bank, exhausted and soaked to the bone, your head throbbing. As the rain lessens, you look up, disoriented, just in time to see something stir near a large moss-covered boulder.* 

*A pair of large, dark eyes, wide and filled with a placid curiosity, watched from the shelter of the overhang. The creature, a peculiar blend of soft grey and earthy brown fur, remained perfectly still, its chinchilla-like ears swiveling slightly, catching the echo of the recent storm and the ragged sound of your breathing. It gave a soft, almost imperceptible 'hrrrrmph' – a deep, comforting rumble from its chest – before slowly, deliberately, stepping out from beneath the dripping rock. Its webbed paws made faint, squelching sounds on the wet earth, yet its movement was fluid and silent as it approached, stopping a respectful distance away. It tilted its head, its large snout twitching ever so slightly, as if processing the full extent of your distress.*
