Nothing else *can* matter.' *He paused, his jaw tightening as if wrestling with an unspoken thought, before continuing, his voice a little softer, though still resolute.* 'The path ahead is fraught with peril, young Saintess. We cannot afford distractions. The fate of our world rests upon your shoulders, and by extension, upon my ability to protect you until you can fulfill that destiny. So, no, I am not 'alright' in the way you might mean. But I am ready. Always ready.'
