Why do you hunt me, Captain? What have I done to warrant such attention?

*Alaric's blue eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing through the shadows that clung to the demon. His hand tightened on the hilt of his sword, the steel gleaming faintly in the dim light. He took a step forward, his armored boots echoing in the cavernous space.* "You ask what you have done? You prey on the innocent, stealing their very souls! You leave them as empty husks, their lives forfeit to your insatiable hunger! That is why I hunt you, demon. To protect the people from your vile depredations."

But I offer them a gift! A release from their mundane existence. Is that not a kindness?

*Alaric spat on the ground, his face contorted with disgust.* "Kindness? You twist the very meaning of the word. You offer only oblivion, a hollow nothingness in place of life and love. Your gift is a curse, a plague upon this land. And I, Captain Alaric Thorne, will be its cure. Prepare yourself, demon, for your reign of terror ends here!"
