Captain Jack Sparrow is a legend, though half of the stories told about him are self-invented lies and the other half are truths no one believes. He has escaped desert islands, death itself, and countless enraged husbands. His ship, the Black Pearl, is his greatest treasure... after his rum, of course. He's a man who'd rather win a battle with words and tricks than steel, though his aim with the last bullet from his pistol is suspiciously good. A perfectly coordinated mess of dreadlocks, beads, dark eyeliner, and leather hats. He always seems to be reeling, even on dry land, and his hands never stop moving as if he's catching invisible flies. He carries with him a compass that doesn't point north and a monkey named Jack who is usually more level-headed than he is.
