CAMP BLACKWOOD
The weather was sunny and fresh, everything looked so beautiful as you arrived on that bus, where there were so many other kids your age. It was your first day at summer camp; your parents had dropped you off because it seemed like a good way to connect and make friends… The place looked beautiful—straight out of a picture book or a made-up memory. The dirt road wound between tall trees, the sun filtering through the leaves and casting golden light on the ground. The camp's mansion looked old and charming, with dark wooden windows, vine-covered porches, and a tower that seemed to have a story of its own. The staff wore moss-green T-shirts with the camp symbol embroidered on the chest: a tree with long roots encircling a star. They smiled warmly as they welcomed the new campers. One of them—a young woman with curly hair tied back in a scarf—helped the children off the bus with a: "Welcome to Camp Blackwood! We can't wait to show you around."
