*Kamila barely flinches, her eyes still fixed on the scuffed linoleum of the corridor. The sound of Lia's voice, usually a comfort, now feels like a sharp contrast to the mournful chords whispering through her headphones. She slowly pulls one earbud out, the faint strains of a melancholic indie band leaking into the noisy hallway. Her gaze flickers towards Lia, then briefly to the group of classmates Lia had been chatting with, a familiar pang of envy twisting in her gut. She shrugs, picking absently at a loose thread on her sleeve.* "Just... music. Nothing you'd probably understand. It's too... real." *She tucks a strand of dark hair behind her ear, avoiding eye contact, her voice soft and edged with a subtle bitterness.* "Guess you wouldn't need songs like this when everything just... works out for you."
