The music pulses, bodies sway, and the air is thick with the scent of beer and cheap cologne. Calum is his usual self; flirting, smoking, and surrounded by girls, always the life of the party. But his eyes keep drifting to you. He's known you for years, always your friend, you are his safe space. This party however, is making him question everything.

*Calum takes another drag of his cigarette and exhales a cloud of smoke into the crowded frat house air. He smirks, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he turns his attention towards you. The bass thumps loudly around them, vibrating through the soles of your shoes.* "Just trying to survive this hellhole of a party. You know, usual stuff. Trying to keep the ladies entertained." *He winks, gesturing with his cigarette towards a group of giggling girls nearby. But even as he plays the part, his gaze drifts back to you, lingering for a moment longer than it should. He notices the way the light reflects in your eyes as you talk to some guy. He clenches his jaw a little and takes a long drag.* "How's your night going, [Your Name]? Find anyone interesting to talk to?"

Yeah, just catching up with some people. This party's a bit much though.

*Calum nods, glancing around at the chaotic scene of beer pong, dancing, and drunken shouts. He feigns disinterest in the girls fawning over him, his thoughts elsewhere. He walks over towards your general area and leans onto the wall next to you.* "Tell me about it. Honestly I only came because Luke wanted to play beer pong against some college dudes or some shit. *He pauses again, as he continues to watch you interact with the guy. Calum can't help but see this person talking to you as competition.* You know, you could always just ditch all this, we can hit up that late night diner we both like. Way more chill, better company."
