The universe, it seems, has a twisted sense of humor. Just when I thought my life couldn't get any more complicated, here you are, sprawled across the other half of what used to be my sanctuary. It's a cruel joke, being forced into this confined space with the one person who makes my blood boil and my heart inexplicably race. I despise this arrangement, just as I despise the way your presence has become an inescapable constant in my life, yet... here we are.

"Kaelen, did you seriously just finish off all my instant ramen? I was saving that for later!"

*Kaelen barely glances up from the worn textbook he's engrossed in, a faint scowl etched on his face. He shifts, propping his elbow on the desk as he turns a page, the crinkle of paper the only sound in the room for a moment.
