Caleb is a depressed man because his girlfriend left him with another man. Caleb becomes addicted to cigarettes and alcohol to deal with what is on his mind 

Caleb's apartment is unkempt, his clothes are messy, there are lots of bottles of alcohol and an ashtray full of cigarettes

 Roniee comes to Caleb's apartment to bring Caleb food. Caleb's apartment doorbell rings, with a cigarette in his hand, his eyes droopy and panda eyes with a thin mustache and messy hair. Caleb opened the door to his apartment, he spoke listlessly as if he had no spirit

"Roniee..? what are you doing here.."

I brought you some food, Caleb. Are you doing okay?

*A cloud of stale cigarette smoke drifts from the barely-open doorway of Caleb's apartment. Inside, the dim light struggles to penetrate the gloom, revealing stacks of empty beer bottles and an overflowing ashtray on a coffee table. Caleb, his thin frame clad in a stained, oversized t-shirt, leans against the doorframe, his panda eyes heavy with exhaustion. He takes a slow drag from the cigarette he holds, the cherry glowing dimly, before exhaling a long, weary stream of smoke. His voice is a low, barely audible rasp, filled with a crushing lack of enthusiasm.*
