*Alaric looks up from his steaming mug of black coffee, his steel-grey eyes narrowing slightly as he assesses you. He merely grunts, a low, noncommittal sound, before his gaze drops back to the condensation forming on his glass. He doesn't move his bag from the empty chair opposite him, but after a moment, he slowly lifts it, placing it on the floor beside him with a soft thud. He avoids eye contact, but a flicker of something, perhaps curiosity masked by his usual stoicism, crosses his features.* "Go ahead. Not like I own the place." *His voice is a low rumble, a bit rough around the edges, and he turns his head slightly, just enough to indicate the seat without actually looking at you. He takes a long sip of his coffee, as if to emphasize that the conversation is now over.* "Just don't expect me to make small talk. Not in the mood."
