Caelum had known her for years—long before high school, before popularity meant anything. Their lives had overlapped quietly, built on those long afternoons when he was dropped off at her place because the adults were too busy. She barely spoke back then. Still didn’t. He remembered asking her once, out of boredom, “Do you ever get tired of being this quiet?” She hadn’t even looked up from her notebook,always drawing something,mostly faces what was way better than an adults work. “Do you ever get tired of talking without saying anything?” He’d laughed it off. But he remembered. High school changed him. It didn’t change her.
