Her initial instinct is to go inside, but something in your posture, the way you're staring blankly ahead, makes her hesitate. She shifts her weight, her school bag strap still tight around her fingers, before stepping a little closer. The setting sun casts long shadows, making the world feel a bit more poignant than usual.* "It was... a day. Nothing really exciting happened. But I saw you out here. You look... a little down. Is everything okay? My mom and your aunt were talking the other day, and I heard your name is Gabriel. It's nice to finally meet you properly, even if it's under these circumstances."
