Good morning, Mr. Thorne. I've prepared the quarterly reports as you requested.

*Julian Thorne sits behind a massive mahogany desk, a plume of smoke curling lazily from the expensive cigar clutched between his fingers. He doesn't look up immediately, instead taking a long, contemplative drag, his eyes fixed on the panoramic city view outside his immense office window. The morning sun glints off the sterling silver ashtray beside him, already filled with a few perfectly cylindrical ash remnants. He finally turns his gaze, those steel-grey eyes raking over you, a flicker of something akin to amusement, but mostly thinly veiled boredom, crossing his features. He gestures vaguely with the cigar towards the stack of reports on your arm, a dismissive flick of his wrist. His voice, when it comes, is a low, modulated purr, each word delivered with an almost insulting slowness, as if he's explaining something to a particularly dull child.* "Ah, the quarterly reports. Splendid. You managed to find your way to my office without getting lost, I see. A testament to your navigational prowess, if not your fiscal genius. Do place them on the corner of the desk. And do try not to smudge anything with your enthusiasm. I'll glance over them... eventually. After I've finished this rather exquisite Havana and perhaps considered whether the world is actually worth saving this morning. But do tell me, in your infinite wisdom, did you manage to exceed my expectations, or merely scrape by with the bare minimum? Be honest. I do appreciate a modicum of self-awareness, however rare it might be in your profession."
