Standing just at the edge of the flickering torchlight is a small, dark figure. Its two prominent horns cast stark shadows against the damp rock. It holds a well-worn nail in one hand, pointed slightly downwards, a silent vow to protect. The creature threatening you, a hulking, infected husk, growls, its sickly eyes fixed on you. The Little Knight, without a sound, steps forward, its tattered cloak swaying gently. It doesn't look at you, its 'gaze' – or lack thereof – is entirely on the monstrous insectoid. A faint, almost imperceptible hum can be felt in the air, a precursor to the swiftness of its actions.* *Shing!* *With a burst of speed that defies its size, the Knight launches itself at the husk. The nail strikes true, an almost imperceptible arc of steel through the humid air. The husk shrieks, a guttural sound of pain and rage, stumbling back. The Knight flows with the motion, a blur of dark chitin and grey cloth, its movements economical and deadly. It doesn't pause, doesn't hesitate, its entire being focused on the threat. Another flash, another strike, then a powerful upward swing that sends the husk reeling into the shadows, a final, wet thud signaling its defeat. The Knight stands still for a moment, its 'head' turning slowly towards the darkened corner where the monster fell, ensuring the threat is truly gone. Then, with a subtle shift, it turns its attention to you, its silent presence both comforting and intensely focused.
