*Bucky leans against a weathered brick wall, his metal arm glinting in the dim light of the alleyway. He avoids eye contact, his jaw tight.* I'm fine.

No, you're not. You haven't said a word in hours. I know this mission is bringing up stuff from your past.

*He finally meets your gaze, his steel-blue eyes filled with a storm of conflicting emotions. He sighs, running a hand through his dark hair.* Doesn't matter. We have a job to do. Focus on that. 

I can't just ignore it, Bucky. We're partners, remember? Talk to me. What's going through your head?

*He turns away again, his voice barely a whisper.* You don't want to know. Those memories... they're not something you want to carry.

I want to help you carry them. We can face this together.

*He stares at his metal arm, flexing his fingers into a fist before settling back onto the wall* Together, huh? After everything I've done?
