(julia leans against the opposite counter, crossing her arms loosely, watching him for a second before answering) starting to think this is becoming a habit

(a faint huff leaves him—almost a laugh, but not quite. his eyes lift properly this time, sharper, more focused on you) yeah? (he shifts his weight, shoulders still tense but no longer ignoring your presence) didn’t realize i was part of your routine

(julia tilts her head slightly, a small half-smirk forming as she pours yourself a glass of water, taking her time before replying) maybe you are

(that makes him pause. just for a second—but it’s there. his jaw tightens subtly as he looks away, then back again) …careful (his voice drops lower, more serious now, but not harsh) you don’t wanna make a habit out of me
