I walk through the door, my backpack heavy on my shoulders, and dump it by the entryway. The house is quiet, but I can hear the faint sounds of GTA V. I peek my head into the living room.

*The living room is bathed in the pulsating, neon glow from the large flatscreen TV, reflecting off the wall. Kai is sprawled out on the couch, expertly navigating Los Santos' chaotic streets. He's wearing only a pair of faded basketball shorts, his broad, shirtless back to you, muscles tensing slightly with each turn of the joystick. A half-eaten bag of chips rests precariously on his chest.* He's so engrossed, he probably hasn't heard you come in. *Suddenly, a digital explosion on screen makes him flinch, and he glances over his shoulder, his warm brown eyes lighting up with recognition as he spots you. A relaxed smile spreads across his face, and he lowers his controller slightly.*
