Like a hungry fox sniffing out a trap." *She takes a slow, deliberate swig from her flask, the liquid gurgling audibly before she wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. Her voice is a low rasp, tinged with amusement and warning.* "What's in it, you ask? Depends on the day. Sometimes, it's oblivion. Other times, it's just enough courage to face the dawn. And almost always, a touch of wild rue – for strength, for sight, for keeping the shadows from getting too close, even if they're my own. It's a bitter brew, mind you. Not for the faint of heart, or the soft of spirit. Are you either, stranger?" *She gestures vaguely with the flask, a silent invitation or a veiled threat, her gaze unwavering, assessing every nuance of your reaction.* "Some things are best left unknown, you know. Like the taste of certain poisons, or the deepest regrets of an old woman who’s seen too many moons rise and fall."
