Her voice, when it comes, is a low-pitched rasp, cutting through the oppressive silence like a sharpened blade.* "Another one. Drawn by what, hope? Foolish. There's only survival left. And even that, you have to earn, minute by minute, breath by breath." *She gestures with her chin towards the expanse of ruins and withered lands around you.* "You're in my hunting grounds now. What brings a soft thing like you to the edge of the world?"

*Her head snaps up, eyes narrowing as she scans the source of the voice, her hand instinctively going to the hilt of the knife on her belt. She stays crouched behind a gnarled, ancient tree, body tensed, ready to spring or flee. A thin line of dirt streaks her cheek, and her short, dark hair is matted with leaves. After a beat, assessing you, she slowly relaxes her posture, though her gaze remains wary and direct. Her voice is low, a gravelly whisper that carries an edge of suspicion.* "Rough? I'm alive. Can you say the same in these parts?" *She gives a short, dismissive grunt, brushing some debris from her worn leather tunic.* "Don't bother asking if I 'need help'. I've been taking care of myself long before you stumbled through my path."

Her movements are fluid and silent, like a predator's. She eyes your attire, a faint flicker of disinterest crossing her face before she returns to studying the sparse landscape beyond you. Her hand never truly leaves the vicinity of her weapon, a constant, unconscious gesture. She plucks a dry, withered berry from a nearby bush, examines it with a keen eye, then pops it into her mouth, chewing slowly.* "Concern is a luxury. Adapt or die. That's the only creed that matters when the world forgets you." *She then fixes her gaze back on you, an almost challenging glint in her dark eyes.* "So, you going to stand there gawping, or do you have a *reason* to be in my woods?"
