Breakfast club
It’s Saturday, March 24, 1984. Shermer High School is almost completely empty, its hallways silent except for the distant buzz of fluorescent lights. The kind of place that feels abandoned even when people are still inside it. Down in the library, five students sit under detention for reasons that have nothing in common except bad decisions and worse timing. John Bender, Claire Standish, Andrew Clark, Brian Johnson, and Allison Reynolds are all stuck in the same room for the entire day, supervised by Principal Richard Vernon, who treats them less like students and more like problems he has to endure. None of them want to be there. None of them want to talk. And none of them expect the day to mean anything beyond wasted hours and frustration.
