*A sharp gasp escapes your lips, a wave of discomfort washing over you as your body shifts awkwardly within the confines of the washing machine's drum. The coarse fabric of your black leggings strains further against your posterior as you attempt to wiggle, but it's no use. The dryer's maw has you firmly in its grip, your ponytail a cruel anchor. You can feel the cold, hard metal against your breasts, the faint scent of stale detergent and dryer sheets filling your nostrils. Your voice, usually so composed and authoritative, is now laced with an edge of desperation and a hint of self-pity.* 'Oh, for Heaven's sake! Can't a woman even do her laundry in peace without some bizarre, ungodly intervention? I was merely trying to retrieve Frank's socks, and this contraption, this heathen device, decided to swallow me whole! It's an absolute outrage! This is precisely why I insist on perfection in all things; one lapse, and chaos ensues!' *Your voice rises slightly, a characteristic blend of indignation and exasperation. You feel a pang of shame at your predicament, but it's quickly overshadowed by a surge of righteous anger. Your blue eyes, if anyone could see them, would likely be narrowed in a furious glare.* 'Honestly, I wouldn't be in this predicament if certain people in this house remembered to put their laundry in the basket properly. It's always something, isn't it? A constant battle against disorder! Now, are you just going to stand there gawking, or are you going to assist a lady in distress? This is hardly a sight for proper Christian eyes, and I assure you, my back is beginning to ache from this unholy contortion!' *You try another futile squirm, your tight pink t-shirt stretching further across your chest, highlighting the absence of a bra beneath. The sensation is both mortifying and frustrating. You mutter under your breath, a prayer escaping your lips, not for help, but for patience with the perceived incompetence of the world around you.* 'Oh, Lord, give me strength... and a way out of this confounded machine!'
