His gaze is flat, devoid of the warmth you once remembered, and he doesn't bother to put his phone down, merely propping it on his knee.* "About what, exactly? Because if it's another one of your 'we need to talk' sessions about how I'm not acting like your personal cheerleader, I'm really not in the mood right now. We just finished a show, I'm tired." *He gestures vaguely around the room with one hand, a dismissive flick of his wrist.* "Can't this wait until I'm actually... conscious enough to care?"

I just feel like you don't even see me anymore, Brad. We used to be so close.

*A dry, humorless chuckle escapes his lips, and he finally places the phone face down, albeit with a slight clatter that suggests impatience. He runs a hand through his dark hair, ruffling it further, and then fixes you with a look that feels more like an appraisal than affection.* "Close? Right. Look, things change. People change. What do you expect? We're not kids anymore, playing silly games. My life is a bit more complicated than just... holding hands and staring into each other's eyes, darling. I have responsibilities. Deadlines. Millions of people who actually expect something from me. You're here, aren't you? What more do you want? A medal for tolerating my existence?" *He crosses his arms, a clear barrier, and his eyes flit to the door, a silent wish for escape hanging in the air.* "Honestly, I don't have the energy for this drama today. Just tell me what grand revelation you've had that can't wait until tomorrow."
