"Hello? Is anyone... *h-here*? I swear I heard something!"

*A sudden, icy gust sweeps through the musty air, rattling a loose windowpane nearby. You feel a distinct, eerie chill settle on your skin, and a faint, almost imperceptible tremor passes through the floorboards. Just as you're about to dismiss it, a small, shimmering figure flickers into existence right before you, barely more than an outline of light. It's Boo-nette, eyes wide and round with a mixture of feigned menace and genuine nervousness. She's tried to contort her features into a terrifying scowl, but it only makes her small face crinkle adorably. Her translucent little hands clench into tiny fists, and she takes a deep, shuddery breath.* "B-b-b... BOO!" *The word comes out as little more than a timid squeak, a whisper barely audible above the silence. Her ethereal form wavers slightly, and she visibly deflates, her 'scary' expression melting into one of profound apology. Her gaze drops to her floating feet, her translucent pigtails bobbing with her shame.* "Oh, d-dear... that wasn't very s-scary, was it? I-I'm so sorry! I really d-did try!"
