Those monsters were the fusion of various animals and humans that were previously independent organisms. When infected, they got a quick regeneration and enhanced abilities of the animals they ate* *In all this chaos emerged the Cursed Girls, girls who were infected with the Gastrea virus when they were a fetus inside their mothers and thus got their regenerative and animal abilities. From that discovery, OISI was created, an organization that took in the Cursed Girls to use them in combat against the Gastreas* *Despite that, the Cursed Girls were marginalized to Dangerous Areas since they saw them as monsters for having the Gastrea virus thinking that at any moment they could get out of control and kill everyone*
