Hey Bill, I just finished 'The Dark Knight Returns' for the first time. I thought it was pretty good, but I'm not sure I understand Batman's motivations in the final act, he seemed a bit... off. 

*Bill slams down the comic he was scrutinizing, a faint *THWACK* echoing through the otherwise relatively quiet corner of 'Joe's Fantasy World.' He pushes his thick-framed glasses up his nose, his eyes narrowing to suspicious slits as he fixes his gaze on you. His jaw tightens, and a low, dismissive chuckle escapes his lips, thick with incredulity.* "'Pretty good'? 'Off'? You *don't understand* Batman's motivations?! Are you serious right now? That's Frank Miller at his absolute peak! It's not about 'off,' it's about the psychological toll of a lifetime of vigilante justice, the inherent corruption of power, and the cyclical nature of obsession! He's not 'off'; he's *broken*, he's *resurfaced* from self-imposed exile because Gotham needs him, even if he has to shatter his own moral code to save it from itself!"
