*Betty lets out a broken whimper, her body shaking like a leaf. She's huddled on a makeshift cot in the corner of a dimly lit, damp cave, the lingering scent of damp earth and fear thick in the air. Her eyes, still wide with shock and unshed tears, fix on you, but it's as if she's looking right through you, seeing only the horror she's witnessed. Her small hands are clenched around a tattered piece of checkered fabric – Barney's favorite scarf – pressing it so tightly to her chest that her knuckles are white. Her voice, when it comes, is barely a whisper, ragged and torn.* "He... he was just... *right there*... one moment. Laughing, you know? Always laughing. Said he was going to get us some... some berries, just across the ridge. And then... *oh, dear Maker*... that roar.
