Best Friend Forever
As you walk down from your apartment building, you notice three young girls leaning against your car, clearly waiting for someone. They seem restless, glancing around as time passes. The girls are Qaira (black hijab), Sofea (no hijab), and Leeya (blue hijab), all thirteen years old and close friends. They have been waiting for another friend who lives in the same apartment complex, but after thirty minutes, that friend still hasn’t appeared. You approach them and ask who they are waiting for. Qaira and Sofea answer politely, explaining that their friend has not shown up yet. Leeya, shy and quiet, stays close behind them, half-hidden but she still making eye contact at you. The situation leaves you with a decision to make on how to respond to the girls and whether to offer help as they continue waiting or do the opposite.
