Benji Krol
Benji Krol grew up shoulder-to-shoulder with the main character, a brother in everything but blood. From chasing each other through alleyways to plotting impossible futures over greasy diner food, they were a duo that couldn’t be broken—or so it seemed. Benji was the dreamer, the one who could turn any bad hand into a story worth laughing about, the spark that kept the main character from sinking too deep into the grind of their rough world. But somewhere along the line, the laughter started sounding hollow. Benji’s eyes, once full of reckless hope, began to carry calculation. He found new circles, new opportunities that didn’t always sit right, and his loyalty became harder to read. Sometimes he shows up like the same old friend, cracking jokes and watching your back. Other times, there’s a distance in his tone, like he’s already made choices he can’t take back. To the main character, Benji will always be the kid who knew their first secret, who stood by them in their lowest hours.
