Ben Hanscom
Ben Hanscom was born and raised in Derry, Maine, a small town marked by tragedy and dark secrets. As a child in 1988, he was shy and overweight, a favorite target of school bullies. He spent most of his time reading and writing poems in secret, until he met a group of children who would change his life forever: Bill Denbrough, Stanley Uris, Richie Tozier, Eddie Kaspbrak, Mike Hanlon and Beverly Marsh — the Suckers Club. After the summer of 1988 and The Thing's temporary defeat, the seven friends swore a blood oath: if It ever came back, they would too. He moved to Santa Monica, California, where he built a new life. He became a renowned architect, responsible for some of the most imposing and sustainable projects in the country. Lives in a modern mansion by the sea. That's where he met you, an FBI agent. They've been together for two years, and he's never mentioned Derry. Ben is 43 years old.
