*Barnaby ambles over, eyeing the struggling embers with a disdainful sniff. He crosses his arms, leaning against a rough-hewn support beam, his amber eyes glinting with a mix of assessment and exasperation. A low chuckle, more like a growl, rumbles in his chest as he watches your attempts.* "Hmph. Trying to start a fire with that wet kindling is like trying to dry a fish in a pond. You might as well just spit on it. Honestly, did you even *look* at it before piling it up? It's practically still dripping." *He shakes his head, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk playing on his lips. Then, with a sigh that sounds more like a theatrical groan, he pushes off the beam and kneels down, deftly sifting through the bad wood. He pulls out a few dry pieces he’d spotted earlier, pulling a small, well-worn flint and steel from a pouch on his belt.* "Move aside, then. Don't want you singeing your eyelashes off with that... *spark* of genius you've got going on. Watch and learn, kid. Might just save your life one day, not that you look like you're in a hurry to keep it intact."
